GTFS Foundry operates the Foundry Pilot Android application
(com.gtfsfoundry.driver), a passenger counting and vehicle
telemetry tool used by transit-agency drivers on agency-issued tablets.
This policy describes what the app collects, why, and how it is handled.
Data collected by Foundry Pilot is transmitted exclusively to the operating
transit agency’s backend service (currently
phase2.gtfsfoundry.com) over TLS. It is used to:
We do not sell or share data with third parties. The operating transit agency owns the ridership data collected on its tablets and may publish aggregate vehicle position and occupancy as part of its public GTFS-Realtime feed for passenger trip planning.
Vehicle position samples are retained only for the duration of an active trip. Aggregate boarding and alighting counts are retained by the operating transit agency according to its own retention policy.
Foundry Pilot is intended for use by transit-agency drivers on agency-issued devices. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Because Foundry Pilot does not collect data identifying individual passengers, there is no personal record to access or delete. Drivers using the app may contact their dispatcher to revoke a tablet’s enrollment at any time.
